Toktli is headed by Vico Diaz who has recorded multiple albums and was the winner of the “world scholarship tour” from Berklee college of music. Diaz represents a select group of musicians who have masterfully balanced and blended the often contradictory poles of jazz innovation and tradition.

Born in Colima & raised in Guadalajara Mexico, Diaz studied classical bass at the Escuela de Música University of Guadalajara before receiving a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from Berklee College of Music. He also studied with some of the best international jazz masters such as Ben Street, Eric Revis, John Beasley, Kyoshi Kitagawa and Hans Glawischnig in addition to collaborating with innovators like Mike del Ferro, Melissa Aldana, Sebastian Gramss, Donny McCaslin and Peter Guidi.
