Eight Argentineans in all black suits. One singer – Diego Casanova – his appearance, a visual reminiscence of Tom Waits and Vinico Caposella, and a liveshow that has yet to be paralleled, winning audiences over instantly.
Hailing from Rosario, Argentina, this seasoned and celebrated liveband played their first European concerts in 2012, which were a smashing success.
Their „Swing Argentino“ blends a variety of danceable styles of music of the 40s, 50s and 60s, mixing swing, ska, jazz, dixie and rockabilly with mambo, bolero and tango - all wrapped up in one. The self-styled „Una-Rock-Big-Band“ is guaranteed to keep the party jumping!
Their songs, written by the frontman and former punk-rock singer, Diego Javier Casanova, are essentially based on typical tango lyrics, blending in nicely with the „Swing Argentino“ in a fresh yet very argintinean way.
Rosario Smowing is enjoying great success in Argintina, embraced by the media, live as well as on TV. With three records and 12 years of performance experience under their belt they are one of the biggest acts within the independent scene.
After the release of their current album „Se Mueve“ in 2012, Rosario Smowing came to play their first European tour, including some very successful concerts in Germany, Sweden and Spain. The album showcases 13 highly diverse songs, all held together by an omnipresent swing-beat. „Se Mueve“ is danceable from the first to the last track, and just so happens to be in sync with the swing wave that is currently sweeping across Europe.
No electro – only well-crafted handmade dance music, Latin-flair and Billy-attitude.
