Ben Sands is best known for his work with The Sands Family, recording and touring worldwide with that seminal folk band since the late 1960s. Twenty or so 'family' albums and many, many thousand miles later, Ben's appearances with sister Anne and brothers Tommy and Colum are very special occasions indeed, sadly all too rare due to the three brothers' successful solo careers.
Ben Sands usually tours solo, performing a mix of his own songs and tunes together with songs from admired contem-poraries and gems from the tradition - all wrapped in a package of stories, whimsical wit and charm. (Ben also tours occasionally with singer-songwriter Rosemary Woods, uilleann piper/multi-instrumentalist, Brendan Monaghan and others).
