Nightwatch is a five piece e-ceilidh band (violin, guitars, melodeon, bass and drums) featuring the virtuoso fiddle and keys of Thomas Fairbairn; the guitars of Brian Heywood; the melodeon of Liam Robinson and one of the best rhythm sections in the business. The musicians bridge the generations and the world with players from both sides of the globe. Brian Heywood started out playing bush music for dance in Australia while Tom and Liam hail from the midlands of England. Brian has honed his craft through ground breaking bands like Cluster of Nuts while Tom brings the energy of youth to the mix.

And the music is English and designed for dancing, maybe to stave off the cold and wet of the British mid-winter weather. Whatever it is it works. Forget languid tropical beats, this is the reel stuff, and if you can do two dances in a row then you're not doing right. The repertoire is based firmly in the English tradition with influences from all over the world, just as it always was - and should be. This isn't folk; it's world music from the sweaty underside of the industrial revolution. So grab your dancing feet, hit the floor and find nirvana in the beat.
