Pete Coe is described by BBC Radio as 'a one man folk industry'. He's been a professional musician since 1971 playing at festivals, concerts clubs, dances & schools throughout Europe, Asia, New Zealand & USA. The new CD is his fourth solo album, prior to this he toured & recorded with Chris Coe, New Victory Band, Bandoggs ( with Nic Jones & Tony Rose ) & Red Shift. Since 1985 he's worked mainly as a soloist & earned an enviable reputation.
Performed with great skill & energy, his repertoire includes ancient ballads, songs of streets & seasons & modern broadsides, presented with authority & good humour. His distinctive voice is enhanced by his instrumental versatility, playing dulcimer, bouzouki, melodeon & banjo. He sings, plays & step dances, sometimes all at once! He's also a folk dance caller & musician, a collector of traditional songs & dance tunes & a songwriter with a wide range of presentations for schools & workshops for all age ranges.
