Global Sounds from Switzerland: SWISS MUSIC – WORLD VI
Switzerland is a country of immigration, amply represented in its productions - where Swiss folk music collides with Balkan rhythms and punk meets Peruvian chicha. Commissioned by FONDATION SUISA and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, curator Roberto Haçaturyan (artlink – Cultural Cooperation) set out on an exploratory tour “for the unheard, post-migrant, transcultural sounds of Switzerland” in the COVID-19-year 2020. „Along this journey, I uncovered musical gems that, in my view, more than merit their place on international playlists.“ - The compilation SWISS MUSIC – WORLD VI offers a prime opportunity to discover sounds from across the world, from the small corner that is Switzerland.
