Stephen Fuller is a singer, kora player and multi-instrumentalist based in Newmanville, Canada. He has apprenticed & collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including master kora players Zal Idrissa Sissokho in Montréal and Toumani Diabaté in Bamako, Mali, as well as Acadian bard and traveller Maurice “Bear” Leger.

In 2016 he released his first solo studio album “colibri!”, produced in Montréal and featuring more than a dozen musicians, as well as field recordings taken in Mauritania and Trinidad. This set of original kora-folk compositions is characterized by his warm vocal sound and the mesmerizing melodic weave of the kora.

In 2017 he co-composed the soundtrack for This Mountain Life, a multi-award-winning documentary set in the coast mountains in British Columbia, Canada. This music was nominated for best soundtrack at the Canadian 2019 Leo Awards.

In 2018 Stephen co-composed, co-filmed & co-directed the community-based, collectively-written rock opera "The Voyage of the Intergalactic Merchant Marine" with Merrickville's own Sons of Martha. In 2019 he directed & scored his first short film, "Follow the Hummingbird: Episode 1", which was filmed in Yerette, Trinidad & Tobago.

Stephen is currently in pre-production for his next studio album with the Feathered Shadows, composing for television & radio content, as well as incubating a duo with Mafer Bandola, a bandola llanera player & composer from Barquisimeto, Venezuela.
