Founded in the year 2004 in France, now based in Colombia, Galletas Calientes Records, "Freshly baked party music and modern folklore", promotes the local Colombian scene and seeks innovative musical fusions.
Colombian music is so diverse that no one has ever explored it yet as a whole. Therefore, the possibilities for us to discover, share and promote new projects and new fusions are endless and very exciting. So far, we have released original music from Systema Solar, Meridian Brothers, Ghetto Kumbé, Los Pirañas, Dragao, Sunka, Carmelo Torres y Los Toscos, Romperayo, Cero39, Rafael Aragon, La Mercosur, Papaya Republik... and worked with international producers such as Sabo, Dj Click, Bosq, Frikstailers, The Busy Twist and more, for remix purposes.
We mainly release "Dance Music" (simply meaning music you want to dance to), but not necessarily electronic. Fusions with jazz or traditional genres from other countries for instance, are of great interest to us as well. We only want to hear something we never heard before, and the important part is the conscious documentation and / or awareness of both parties origins, for that, according to us, it preserves the interest, the authenticity, and the feeling to be found in the final product.
As much as we can, we like to release the music on vinyl, not only because its non perishability and tangibility, but also because it gives more room for the visual art as something as important as the music.
The label's main focus is to build relationships with worldwide publishing, distribution, booking, and promotion partners to be able to share our love for the music and give the artists the exposure they deserve. We are also interested in meeting some artists from all over the world to put up some musical projects involving encounters with Colombian musicians.
