The album INITIO presents the duo Joanna Kamenarska & Irina Georgieva – two performers with a successful career worldwide.
Joanna Kamenarska has worked consecutively as a concertmaster of NDR Sinfonieorchester and Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra. A student of the legendary Ruggiero Ricci, she is highly celebrated at the international competitions and festivals at which she participates. She has performed in partnership with world-famous musicians such as Simone Young, Alois Brandhofer, Radovan Vlatkovich. She has played as soloist with many orchestras, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, Paul Goodwyn, Kalman Berkes, Nayden Todorov, Martin Panteleev, Simon Hewett, Garrett Keast. Currently she leads master classes in Toyama, Japan and Neuberg, Austria.
Irina Georgieva has similar success in her career. She has won numerous prizes at prestigious competitions, and her concerts in Switzerland, Italy, France, England, Morocco, South America, the Balkans, the Middle East, etc. attract many new admirers and were highly esteemed by the music critics. Having graduated at the Music Academy of Basel in the class of Rudolf Buchbinder, I. Georgieva was described as possessing “…excellent sound culture in connection with stupendous technique, instinctive sense of style, strong personality and charisma…”.
The Summer Festival in Salzburg in 2013 provoked the two prominent soloists to unite talent and professionalism to record their debut programme, which they describe as “… contrasting, inspired by the theme of the eternal drama of human existence…”.
