César "Pupy" Pedroso is one of the key figures not only in Timba, but in the last 40 years of Cuban pop music. As well as being one of Cuba's best and most prolific composers, he played a seminal role in revolutionizing the art of salsa piano playing.
He started with Orchestra Revé and then became a founding member of Los Van Van (Grammy's Award Winners).
In the summer of 2001, he left to form his own group, "Pupy y Los Que Son Son", which has now released four of the best CD's of the decade, in which he is the Director and had earned several award prizes, gold and platinum disks for its records.

Composer, writer and arranger, pianist and director, Cesar de las Mercedes Pedroso Fernández (Pupy) comes from a musicians’ family. He founded with Juan Formell Los Van Van Band where he was pianist, arranger and composer for 32 years winning the Grammy 1999 with the CD “Permiso que llegó Van Van”;
