Veronika Harcsa is one of the most outstanding musicians and performers of European vocal jazz. She released three albums on Traumton Records to a critical acclaim, gaining stunning reviews in the European jazz media. She has performed in 40 countries, her duo with guitarist Bálint Gyémánt was selected to showcase at the Jazzahead! 2015 European Jazz Meeting, which exposed her to wider recognition. After her studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest she got her Master degree at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. Although she graduated as a jazz singer, it’s not unusual from her to collaborate with classical musicians. She sang in Martinu’s dadaist opera directed by Jiri Menzel in Basel, performed with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra as well as with Concerto Budapest, and she will play Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire at the Academy of Music in Budapest in spring 2021. Her artistic goal in this context is to find a non-conventional interpretation of classical songs.
