Essence of Duality traverses the boundaries of jazz and classical Indian music building aesthetic connections
between the two. The album is the inevitable result of Hindol's migration to Germany in search of new sounds
and compositional styles. Confronted by a new culture as well as musical differences led him to breaking his
inner boundaries until finally the two perspectives merged.
Hindol’s formal study of jazz and insight into western culture coupled with his Indian classical music
background inspired him to experiment with a bold, new style of composing while striving to keep the two
genres at eye level. The compositions have polyrhythmic structures and modes akin to Indian classical music
while the language of jazz is preserved in the instrumentation, harmonization and improvisation.
