With Helder Moutinho, we're used to wait for each new record. His new album O Manual do Coração is only his fifth album in a 20-year career, following three years after 1987, unanimously (and rightly so!) acclaimed as one of the best Fado albums.
But the truth is Helder Moutinho needs time to shape, carve and work each and every new project to perfection, in between his multiple roles (as a record producer, manager, booking agent, singer, songwriter…). And to ensure each new album isn’t just another album.
The concept of O Manual do Coração as a “short story collection” will continue on its stage presentation – “with various stories linked to a single place, which will be the venue. They will mainly come from the new album, with a few thrown in from the previous albums”. It's the confirmation of an artist of rare integrity – a singer that only releases a new album when he has something to say.
