Her two original records, delve into personal experiences, evoking pain and longing, and comparisons have been drawn to Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, and Dolores Keane. Gráinne’s latest original album ‘This Secret’ (2019 was recorded in Nashville, with Grammy nominated Thomm Jutz) - she writes from a powerful place with lyrics that tell of pain, hurt, desire, all the hallmarks of scarred relationships making her truth resonate with her listeners. Her music feels like a cathartic expression that has enabled her to move on, move forward.

She’s shared stages with Glen Hansard and U2, has opened for Gladys Knight, Mary Black, and Eagle Eye Cherry. She’s toured internationally and this year saw her showcase at Folk Alliance International before her first US tour in April 24. She’s now in possession of the much desired 0-1 visa for 3 years.

Aside from her solo work, Gráinne collaborates with guitarist Brendan Walsh in the duo Gráinne and Brendan, exploring folk, classical, and traditional music - "Songs From Ireland" was released in 2019. Additionally, Gráinne is part of the folk duo Hibsen with Jim Murphy who wrote an album of songs based on James Joyce's "Dubliners” - ‘The Stern Task of Living’ was released in May 2023.
