Daniel Miranda is a graduated Geographer by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied music by himself. In 1996 he was hired by the Petropolis Municipal Education Secretary to teach Brazilian Popular Music History in the project Music Workshop, held at the Culture Center of that city. In 1997 he has formed with Paulo Sa (Mandolin) and Henrique Drach (Cello) the ensemble RIOTRIO. They presented many workshops around Brazil and in USA including San Diego (CA), Bozeman (MT) and Boston (MA). Became professor in 2002 at Villa-Lobos School of Music. Daniel started his professional carreer at 16 as a soloist at Lamberto's Bar in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro.
Daniel also played in Belgium and France in many workshops and radio stations. He is currently working on his PhD. in Cultural Geography at the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
