- Battista Acquaviva (Cetera / A cappella / Tambourine)
With a vocal range that spans up to three octaves, Battista Acquaviva’s voice is nothing short of exceptional: pure, raw, and powerful, like water emerging from stone. Described as a "whistle voice" by renowned ethnomusicologist Bernard Lortat-Jacob, her tone has fascinated scientists and musicologists alike.
Her performance is more than a concert, it is an experience.
Alone on stage, she brings the Mediterranean to life in eight different languages, weaving together traditional a cappella pieces and haunting melodies performed on the Cetera, a rare Corsican string instrument. Whether in a cathedral, a theatre, or an intimate private space, the show adapts fluidly to its setting. Duration ranges from 20 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, with or without piano.
Since 2010, Battista has captivated audiences across the globe, from Quebec to Austria, Réunion to Jordan, where she performed at a Peace Festival for the royal court. In 2015, her appearance on The Voice France turned heads and touched hearts: her rendition of the Psaume de David has since amassed over ten million views on YouTube.
Her journey continued with a major tour across France’s most iconic arenas, and in 2017, she was handpicked by Franco Dragone (Cirque du Soleil) for the breathtaking show La Perle in Dubai, performing alongside 60 dancers and acrobats in a spellbinding setting. In 2019, her single Passio was selected for Destination Eurovision France.
With four albums released and around twenty concerts a year, Battista is now working on a new world music project, a return to her roots, blending raw a cappella vocals with the soul of the Cetera.
