The path of Tomáš Koèko to enchantment by Moravian folklore led through the poetry of Ladislav Nezdaøil who writes in Moravian mountaineers’ dialect. The debut CD Upper boys (Horní chlapci, 1999) consists uniquely of the poems set to music. The second record, ONDRÁŠ (2000), inspired by the story of the legendary hero from northern Moravia where Tomáš was born, already comprises modified traditional songs with a bandit theme and initial response pieces by Tomáš as the author. The third album, apart from two exceptions created by the author - Hodovnice (2001) – searches for inspiration in the oldest traditional Slavic habits with pre-Christian roots. The extraordinary album Planted seed (Sadné zrno, 2002) is a humble return to the poetry of L.Nezdaøil and the CD Into Dance! (Do tanca!) will be an eruption of rhythms and melodies inspired by traditional Moravian dances, atmosphere during dance and common human need to “dance” sorrow and joy away.
