Turkish rock-based arabesque band ISTANBUL ARABESQUE PROJECT (IAP) formed in 2009 in Istanbul. The band, re-arranging and performing Turkey's ghetto and street music classics from Müslüm Gürses, Orhan Gencebay, Ferdi Tayfur, Hakkı Bulut etc. and also writing their own and brand new arabesque songs. Their re-arrangements are about to transform “deeply heavy” sad songs to dynamic&catchy tunes.

On stage, as an addition to basic rock instruments, IAP uses also oriental percussions and strings (both as live and samples); and an oud-like Turkish fretless instrument called cümbüş (cümbüsh)...

Istanbul Arabesque Project played hundreds of concerts all over in Turkey and also played in different arenas, halls and clubs in Australia (especially The Basement Club in Sydney&Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne), Germany (Berlin, Mannheim, München, Augsburg) and Belgium (Brussels); released 4 albums and 4 single (they donate all of the income of their last album to charities for street children).
