"To just simply categorize the style of this Berlin–based sextet as "gypsy swing" would not do them justice. Although the obvious reference to the traditions of Jazz Manouche - as implied by the band's name – determines the foundation for many of their songs consisting of Reinhardt compositions and wild poetic balkan dance, Django Lassi keeps their tonal horizon open into every direction and understands to fuse all these different influences into a high class and astonishingly danceable experience."
Since early 2011 the band is on tour through Germany gaining new friends and fans with their explosive program. Hereby they can be found playing anywhere, from an acoustic swing manouche session in a small cafe in Berlin to a massive drum and bass trance rave in a hot night club infront of an exstaticly dancing crowd. Django Lassi has the special ability to adopt to its audience and set the right mood to the right crowd. Every song is a new adventure and Django Lassi makes sure there are lots of surprises along the way of a stirring musical journey. Playing almost entirely original material, Django Lassi distinguishes itself by NOT being your usual swing band and is definately one to remember.
