Rajasthan Roots, supported by JVF is a collective to promote the performing art of Rajasthan by bringing folk to a multicultural platform, by creating a new folk blues, hip-hop, electronica, and appealing to various musical tastes and age groups.
All the compositions are reflective of Rajasthan folk, using traditional instruments such as the Khamaicha, Nagara, Morchang, Khurtal and Algoza. Aditya Bhasin, who has worked with JVF for the last 2 years in their rural arts programme is instrumental in music direction of Rajasthan Roots, by understanding contemporary and western sound, experimenting with technology and folk instruments and allowing the artists in the collective to express their creativity.
