Rāga (or raag) literally means "to color, to paint". Each raga is a melodic framework for improvisation meant to "color the mind" and arouse certain emotions of the listening audience.
We invite you to "color your mind" with the shades of an evening ragas, tumultuous and passionate, performed by three exceptional musicians. Surround yourself with music and relive the atmosphere that once charmed travelers to India.
The delight of the evening will be the "jugalbandi" moments, in which the musicians will launch themselves in a playful competition two-by-two, challenging each other with increasingly sophisticated musical phrases.
Step into the time machine, to a destination full of exoticism and passion with a wonderful crew:
Udhai Mazumdar (tabla) from New Delhi, is a former disciple of Ravi Shankar, trained in the millennial tradition of "living with the master", having "class colleagues" such as Anoushka Shankar and Norah Jones.
Rohan Dasgupta (sitar) from Calcutta is one of the few fortunate sitar players in the world, including Anoushka Shankar, who got the chance to perform on stage all the "West meets East" works of Ravi Shankar.
Bhaskar Das (bansuri) from Mumbai is descendant of a great family of musicians from Allahabad, Bhaskar received his first flute at the age of four, from Bholanath Prasanna, professor of the legendary Hariprasad Chaurasia.
