GILLES APAP – A FREE SPIRIT OF THE VIOLIN
Gilles Apap is one of the most charismatic and unconventional violinists on the international scene. A virtuoso of improvisation and a master of eclecticism, he easily moves from established classical works to jazz and traditional music, building bridges between eras, genres and cultures. The great Yehudi Menuhin called him “a true violinist of the 21st century”, impressed by the energy and naturalness with which Apap reinvents music.

His interpretations are marked by spontaneity and authentic emotion, and his “signature” is the way he manages to bring a new breath to well-known pieces, reinterpreted through a poetic lens, often with elements of folklore or jazz.

COLORS OF INVENTION – THE FREEDOM OF THE GENRE-CROSSING

Created in 2000, the Colors of Invention ensemble is an atypical quartet, made up of high-class musicians, who look at music beyond stylistic boundaries. Formed by Myriam Lafargue (accordion), Ludovit Kovac (cymbaom), Philippe Noharet (double bass) and of course, Gilles Apap (violin), the group offers an open and lively repertoire, in which jazz, classical music and popular traditions meet in a free but rigorous dialogue.

Their repertoire includes spectacular reinterpretations of works such as The Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, Tzigane by Maurice Ravel, Prelude and Allegro by Fritz Kreisler, but also traditional Irish, Eastern European or Balkan music, all reimagined with refinement and passion.

THE MUSICIANS
Myriam Lafargue, acclaimed for her virtuosity on the accordion, has collaborated with artists such as José Van Dam and renowned composers such as Michel Legrand and Alexandre Desplat. Philippe Noharet, an elite double bassist, was a member of the Orchestre National de l’Opera de Paris and the World Orchestra for Peace, performing under the baton of legendary conductors. Ludovit Kovac, a dulcimer soloist with an impressive international career, effortlessly combines classical and traditional repertoire.
