Amélie et Les Singes Bleus (ALSB) have made a bride and groom leave their own wedding reception to come next door and dance! With their festive energy and unique interpretations of French classics, ALSB have established themselves as a true crowdpleaser
of English and French audiences alike.
Les Singes Bleus was already well established on the Toronto music scene - holding
down residencies at both the legendary Rex and Gladstone Hotels - when they decided
to join forces with award-winning singer Amélie Lefebvre. Lefebvre's songwriting and
performing style dovetailed nicely into the manouche/cabaret world that Les Singes
Bleus was already creating on stage.
The collaborative union of Amélie Lefebvre and the members of Les Singes Bleus has
been an exciting rebirth. ALSB set out to keep alive a wide range of French classics
and hidden gems - both European and Québécois - with their wholly unique interpretive
style. Whether turning Edith Piafʼs Johnny into a smokey, hip-hop influenced confession
or transforming Jacques Brelʼs Les Singes into a frenetic, megaphone-amplified
warning, ALSB creates a sultry, funny, exciting and exuberant experience that
transcends language and culture.
