'ROOTS' is a journey into the spiritual landscape of ancestors of Eastern Europe.
With hypnotic mallets, deep drums, edgy synths, and vocals that spread the warmth of home, the music is radical and elemental at the same time. It shifts between heroic intensity and raw, almost primal expression, while holding space for intimate emotional subtlety.
This new album from Polish percussionist Kasia Kadłubowska reimagines traditional songs from Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus alongside original compositions. With her band, she explores how traditional music can connect, empower, and transform communities today.
Blending ancient vocal traditions with experimental pop, free improvisation, and contemporary sound esthetics, ROOTS is not a return to the past – it is the future growing out of it. It carries forward the beauty preserved through generations, reshaped through Kasia’s own voice, her band, and their sound: grounded, open, borderless, and deeply alive.
