Alea is a singer, songwriter, composer, and vocal coach from Puglia, Italy. She graduated in Jazz Singing from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and has worked with esteemed orchestras such as the Verdi Jazz Orchestra and the National Conservatory Orchestra. Alea has also performed on national TV programs with the Terra d’Otranto Orchestra and as a singer in the Official Band of Casa Sanremo during the Italian Song Festival.
In 2017, Alea was a songwriter for Sony Music alongside authors Enrico Palmosi and Tony Maiello. She was an ambassador for Puglia at Womex in Santiago de Compostela with her first album, Spleenless. She later toured
Europe, performing in London, Berlin, Barcelona, and Brussels. With the support of Puglia Sounds Record, she released her second album, Generation, in 2018.
In 2019/20, she presented the special concert Generation Reloaded in theatres with the lineup Alea & the Sit, featuring trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso.
On December 15, 2023, with the support of Nuovo Imaie, Alea released her third album, CUMMEI – MediterraNeoSoul.
Cummei - MediterraNeoSoul is a narrative that tells the story of emigration. It covers everything from the reasons that led to the decision to emigrate, to the difficulties encountered during the journey, as well as the feeling of homesickness.
This personal journey can help to discover self-awareness and meaning in daily life. It is rooted in one’s homeland while staying connected to the rest of the world.
