kunkAlma asbl/vzw
kunkalma: a place of creation between clay and sound. Palestine, land of songs, songs of the earth with Ramzi Aburedwan & Dal'Ouna Ensemble
Discovering the musical universe of the Levant, between creation and tradition.
Presentation and inspiration: With his new repertoire Natouf, violist, bouzouki player, and composer Ramzi Aburedwan pays tribute to his ancestors, the Natufians—the early populations of the Fertile Crescent who initiated the transition from nomadic life to sedentarization. It is a musical journey between memory and modernity that explores the roots of the Levantine universe.
The musical universe: The music brings the past and present into dialogue. The bouzouki and oriental percussion infuse a nomadic spirit, the oud serves as a mirror to the past, while the accordion and keyboards anchor the melodies in our present time. The repertoire blends original compositions, Middle Eastern traditions, and modern, jazzy touches.
