The Québécois band Le Vent du Nord present their 10th album TERRITOIRES. They owe their world renown to their unique style, self-penned repertoire, and how they conjugate Québécois traditional music in the present tense. On this new opus, the band’s singers/multi-instrumentalists—five of them now!—perform 13 new songs and tunes that tell the Québec stories that rocked our memories and our dreams. From stripped-down a cappella singing to sophisticated arrangements, the band’s universe is stunningly rich. Oral tradition and progressive folk are two of the territories the group like to visit. Physical and mystical realms, spaces to create, places you belong in, territories are a-many and push us to walk through them, investigate them, discover them. Childhood, New France, unconditional love, the Quiet Revolution, and legends, are all territories that work as invitations to travel to Le Vent du Nord’s Territoires.
For these territories, the group will also be sponsoring—in parallel—two projects of social replanting with the organization Évolution Arbre in 2019.
