Laboratorium Pieśni

Laboratorium Pieśni - Song Laboratory (world / mystic folk / polyphonic / spiritual / medicine music) is a female singing group from Poland. Using traditional, polyphonic singing, they perform root songs of different cultures around the World - Ukrainian, Balkan, Georgian, Belarusian, Cherokee, Lakota, Yoruba tribes and many others, as well as own wild intuitive compositions in imagined languages. They sing a capella and in own arrangements with shaman drums and other ethnic instruments, such as shruti box, flutes, kalimba, zaphir and koshi chimes, rattles etc., creating a new space in a traditional song, adding voice improvisations, inspired by sounds of nature, often wild and feminine.

The traditional songs are often brought from their source – different regions of Poland, Europe and world, by the members of the group – having their unique history and evolving in the course of work. Finally, they are performed in a new form – traditional or enriched. The group has also created theatre performances, where using traditional songs they tell stories about disappearing rites: ‘Pory Roku’ (Seasons) 2013, ‘Puste Noce – Pieśni, które już się kończą’ (Empty Nights – Songs that have come to an end) 2014.

Laboratorium Pieśni collaborated with Polish valued and known musicians, for example participated in music recordings composed by Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski to a painted film “The Peasants” – Polish candidate to Oscar award; music recordings for new album by Miuosh x Zespół “Śląsk” - “Pieśni Współczesne. Tom II”.

The music video of Laboratorium Pieśni with Belarusian song "Sztoj pa moru" has reached over 15 million views on Youtube, where they have over 200.000 subscribers and they are followed by more than 155.000 fans on Facebook and over 20.000 on Instagram.

Laboratorium Pieśni / Song Laboratory has performed and led workshops in over 20 countries, both on individual regular concerts as well as on festivals connected to world music, medicine music, traditional cultures, shamanism and also electronic music, bringing organic, tribal quality.

Two albums of the gorup titled: "Rasti" and "Hé oyáte" where nominated to most important music award in Poland - the Fryderyk Award, in the category of world/root music.
