Macedo & Mariano, both born in Brasília - Brazil, met in a singing circle in mid 2004. Since then, decided to form the duo with the main focus on maintaining and projecting the "Caipira" Culture, using Viola Caipira - the 10-string Brazilian guitar, as the guiding thread of his projects. Over these 15 years of trajectory, they managed to achieve a certain recognition within the Viola Caipira community. They were awarded in 2009 at the SESI VIOLEIROS Festival with the recording of an authorial track. This was an important moment for them to boost their career, since in the following year (2010), they were invited to compose a collection of notorious recognition within the Viola Caipira Universe (Viola Viva Vol. III Collection). At the end of 2015, Macedo & Mariano released their first career CD, "Conversando com a Viola" (Talking with the Viola). In 2016, they managed to publicize the CD at various public and private events.
Since 2018 Elizeu Dourado (Mariano) is also working as an event manager, through his company Cordas da Vida (Life's Strings), producing, since then, 4 music festivals, 2 of them being performed in online conditions during the coronavirus pandemic.
