The summer tour of the band Cara de Espelho will pass through the MED Festival this Thursday, 27th June. The band will perform on the Cerca Stage at 21:15, following the premiere of the documentary “As Caras de Espelho” an exclusive “Cinema MED” screening.

In the coming months, the band will be present at some of the most iconic national festivals, such as FMM Sines and Bons Sons (Cem Soldos, Tomar), as well as other notable events like Festa do Avante.

This week, Maria Antónia Mendes, Carlos Guerreiro, Luís J Martins, Nuno Prata, Pedro da Silva Martins and Sérgio Nascimento head south to perform live at the MED Festival, opening the Cerca Stage on the first day of the event.

Before the show, at 20:00, the documentary “As Caras de Espelho” will be presented, making its absolute premiere at “Cinema MED,” a series that includes films, concerts, film-concerts, and cinema with a musical flirtation curated by Rui Pedro Tendinha.

One of the questions that arises when we think about the band Cara de Espelho is how all the musicians came together and started working on this project. The documentary that the band will premiere at the MED Festival is a portrayal of the creative process that led to their debut album.

The artist Lucas Tavares followed the early meetings of Cara de Espelho and transformed them into a mini-film that reflects the band’s initial moments together, the days spent in the studio creating their music, the recording process of the album “Cara de Espelho,” and the camaraderie that unites them in this unique project.

The tour will continue through the summer, with Cara de Espelho appearing on 26th July at the Festival Músicas do Mundo de Sines (FMM), on 10th August at the Bons Sons festival in the village of Cem Soldos, Tomar, and in September at the Festa do Avante on the 8th, and at Amadora em Festa on 14th September. In November, the band returns to Lisbon for a headline concert at the São Luiz Teatro Municipal.

They debuted in October 2023 with “Corridinho Português” and “Político Antropófago,” the two singles that first showcased the unique sound of Cara de Espelho, the new supergroup of Portuguese popular music. Their eagerly awaited self-titled album was released on 26th January and received significant attention from both national and international music press.
