This project is an inspiring fusion of musical worlds, bringing together two renown artists from vastly different traditions:
Magda MAGIC Piskorczyk, the most awarded female vocalist of the Polish blues scene, two times finalist of the biggest International Blues Challenge in Memphis , three time nominee for the most important Polish music industry award - Fryderyk and
Adama Dramé, the master drummer from Burkina Faso and a world ambassador of Malinké music for over 40 years, taking the stage as both a solo artist and with large ensembles across multiple continents, teaching many generations of drummers, performing on some of the most prestigious stages.
From the very start of her over 20-year career, Magda MAGIC Piskorczyk has been on a quest to uncover the African roots of the Mississippi Delta blues. Her performances have always been inspired by the heartbeat of West African rhythms. The moment Magda and Adama met, a natural spark ignited, creating a strong urge to merge their musical identities. Magda’s idea of over 20 years of merging old Mississippi Delta blues with its ancestry in West African roots came to life.
Joining this dynamic duo are two exceptional musicians who add their own unique voices to the mix:
Adam Rozenman – a longtime collaborator in Magda’s band, Adam brings his mastery of Afro-Cuban, African, and Middle Eastern percussions to the project. His percussive expertise deepens the rhythmic layers of the project.
Noums Dembele – a native of Burkina Faso, Noums plays the kora and balafon, weaving rich African melodies into the tapestry of the Polish world music scene, where he’s been a vibrant presence for several years.
With its soulful fusion of Mississippi Delta blues and African traditions this project is a journey back to the roots, a celebration of the shared pulse that connects cultures, and a testament to the power of musical collaboration across continents.
