Maimu Jõgeda Music
Estonian accordionist, composer, and arranger blending Nordic folk music into her own compositions, giving the accordion a delicate yet powerful voice
Maimu Jõgeda is an Estonian accordionist whose music blends Nordic folk traditions with her own luminous compositions, giving the instrument both fragility and power. She brings a distinctive voice to the accordion, shaping it into a versatile medium for both folk music and newly composed music. In 2025 she released her third solo album, Nordic Reflections, weaving together Nordic folk influences, original music, and Estonian folk songs, with the addition of her singing. As Ants Johanson wrote in Muusika magazine, Jõgeda “paints music, mostly with a fine brush, but using a rainbow of colors and shades.” She is a solo artist as well as a member of Alterne (DK, BE, EST) and HOSTIKKA (FIN, EST).
