Maimu Jõgeda is an Estonian accordionist whose music blends Nordic folk traditions with her own luminous compositions, giving the instrument both fragility and power. She brings a distinctive voice to the accordion, shaping it into a versatile medium for both folk music and newly composed music. In 2025 she released her third solo album, Nordic Reflections, weaving together Nordic folk influences, original music, and Estonian folk songs, with the addition of her singing. As Ants Johanson wrote in Muusika magazine, Jõgeda “paints music, mostly with a fine brush, but using a rainbow of colors and shades.” She earned a nomination at the Estonian Folk Music Awards Etnokulp for the Best Musician of the Year 2025.
