Maisha Music

Maisha Music is a Tanzanian music label and management company working with contemporary and traditional East African music. As a label we primarily work with Tanzanian artists, but Maisha Music also distributes music from the rest of East Africa in Tanzania. Maisha Music furthermore works as a booking agent for regional and international musicians. We therefore help to bring international musicians to East Africa as well as taking our regional artists/musicians to other venues and festivals Worldwide.

The vision of Maisha Music is to be among the leading companies in the world to release and promote music from East Africa.

Our main market are the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, but at Maisha Music we believe that there is a global market for East African music of high quality.

At Maisha Music we concentrate on contemporary East African music within the styles of pop, reggae, ethnic, dancehall, hip-hop and chill out/lounge. We combine beautiful African melodies, voices, traditional instruments, rhymes and lyrics with a more western electronic soundscape. We take the best of different cultural and musical backgrounds and combine them into a new appealing sound.
