In the soundtrack of the singer, composer, guitarist (actually, he is a multiple instrumentalist), arranger and producer life participate, between stages and records, the most important names of the national and international music like Michel Legrand, Paul Mauriat, Jon Hendricks, Jane Duboc, Ivan Lins, Leny Andrade, Tito Madi, Joyce, Hermeto Paschoal, Johnny Alf, Tim Maia and Flora Purim.
His virtuous talent allowed that Filó Machado traveled the world from Ribeirão Preto to the United States, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, up to Japan, besides making part of the spectacle “Rendez Vous Brasil/Cuba” with the saxophonist Jane Bunnet, in a tour around Canada. Having songs in partnership with Djavan, Aldir Blanc, Sérgio Natureza, Taiguara, Cacaso, Cláudio Roditi, Judith de Souza, Sérgio Ricardo and Fátima Guedes, the composer had also the opportunity to make presentations in the jazz festivals of Córsega and Uzeste, in France, opening the show of Nina Simone in Cannes Jazz Festival.
In 2000, the North-American people appreciated the good music of Filó Machado. His CD “Cantando um Samba” introduced by the recording company Malandro Records (Ohio – USA) was eulogized by the jazz specialized critic and also by the world music, in influential publications like Down Beat, Jazziz, Jazz Now and Rhythm magazines. Besides being included in the list of the 44 titles indicated to contest the Grammy 2000 – in the category “best Latin jazz album” – this disc took Filó Machado to the world music temple stage: invited by maestro Ettore Stratta and producer Pat Philips Pat, he divided the Carnegie Hall stage, in New York, with Gal Costa, Dory Caymmi, Toots Thielemans, César Camargo Mariano, Jane Monheit, Romero Lubambo and Paula Robison, in the spectacle “40 anos de Bossa Nova”.
From there to the Snug Harbor (New Orleans) or The Bird of Paradise Jazz Club (Ann Arbor) and up to the Night Town (Cleveland), it was more than a natural way. After all, the American tour was the forth of Filó Machado's year, which made also presentations in Canada (at Una Mas, in Toronto), Japan (in Takasaki and Tokyo) and Denmark (Jazz House, in Copenhagen).
In 2004, Filó Machado launched the CD “Jazz de Senzala” produced by Maritaca, with special participations of Toninho Horta, Arismar do Espírito Santo, Léa Freire, Vinícius Dorin, Teco Cardoso and Thiago do Espírito Santo, besides Théo de Barros as arranger.
The artist also is launching “Ubida”, his second CD by the American recording company Malandro Records, having as guests Kenny Barron, César Camargo Mariano, Romero Lubambo, Teco Cardoso, Paulo Braga, Steve Turre and Nilson Matta. In 2005, he launched the CD “Tom Brasileiro” in partnership with the singer Cibele Codonho, by Lua Discos, interpreting Tom Jobim songs. He toured Europe and Japan as well.
