Masilva is a spacey and sonic “electroubadour” from Colombia who composes upbeat, atmospheric songs blending South American tradition and global sounds. Albums Entre Bacanería y Barbarie (2021), Juglaría Gallinaza (2016), Condor (2012) and Criollo Businessman (2009) evoke his influences of Champeta, Cumbia, Afro-Beat and Andean, together with Electro, Funk, Dub and Hip Hop. He has played in festivals such as Glastonbury (England), Artisti In Piazza (Italy), COMA (Brazil), Iberoamericano de Teatro (Colombia) and in venues in London, Bristol, Rimini, Brasilia, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, Bogota, Cali, Oaxaca and others.
He has collaborated with iconic music characters such as Mad Professor, Abelardo Carbonó and Richard Blair (Sidestepper) and toured around Latin America and some European countries. He is deeply involved in social and environmental causes in his homecountry Colombia and is musical director for Sinfonía Trópico - an arts and science platform focused on the conservation and protection of biodiversity.
