Produced during 2019-2021, this nine-track record explores sounds like Cumbia,
Currulao, Son, Bullerengue among other traditional music through the lens of the Bogotá based
musician, whose lyrics talk about Colombian turmoil, political and social turbulent scene and how people manage to somehow gravitate between barbaric and festive moods despite, or perhaps because of the situation. There are cries for help as in “Que Vengan por Mi”, asking aliens to abduct him, stories of rural social leaders being shot and dissapeared as in “Joya”, fictional tales on how would Jesus Christ be looked upon if he appeared in 2021 Colombia as in “Si Cristo Viniera” and other more optimistic tracks like “Aguaepanela Fantástica”, a call to buy food from local markets and retain produce sovereignty, or “Ponga un Disco” narrating the folk ́s desire to party and forget about everyday struggles. Chicha inspired electric guitars, dark conga drums, spacey synths, raw drum kit beats and heavy groovy bass make this a record you can dance to, listen carefully to, or just play and flow to.
