Based in Greece and Switzerland, Medigrεcian represents original acts that create contemporary music intrinsically linked to the vast Tradition of the greater Mediterranean region, transcending time and trends. The agency aims to showcase its artists’ work to audiences worldwide and at the same time become the bearer of new collaborations between genre-defying musicians by bringing them together.
Run by musicians, Medigrεcian organizes shows and events featuring music and dance also combining cultural and educational practices such as seminars and master classes.
Since 2014, the agency has been organizing Mediterranean Music in Switzerland, a Festival that has hosted in its stages in Zürich, Basel and Bern some of the most promising up and coming acts and musicians as well as worldwide renowned ones like Derya Turkan (Turkey), Sokratis Sinopoulos (Greece), Theodosii Spassov (Bulgaria), Haig Yazdjian (Armenia/Greece), Kiya Tabassian (Iran), Manolis Pappos (Greece), Müslüm Eke (Turkey), Dimitris Mystakidis (Greece) and many others.
Medigrεcian has also booked or organized concerts and events in Germany, Spain, France, Turkey, Greece, Sweden, Belgium and elsewhere in collaboration with major festivals and venues.
Medigrεcian’s founder Alkis Zopoglou (a kanun virtuoso and composer) is also the Artistic Director of Cosmopolis held in Kavala, Greece since 2000, the most influential Ethnic Festival of the Balkans that every summer hosts top artists from all over the world (Rachid Taha, Goran Bregoviç, Orquesta Aragon, Lee Scratch Perry, Alborosie, Chico Trujillo, DJ Martin Morales, Dub Inc, Dub FX, The Rumjacks, Alpha Blondy, The Skatalites and many others).
