Munkhbat Myagmarjav hails from Chandmani soum in Khovd Province, a region regarded as the cradle of the Mongolian art of throat singing. As a fifth-generation practitioner of his family’s Khoomii tradition, he carries forward a rich and deeply rooted musical heritage.
Professionally and classically trained, he bridges contemporary academic music with ancestral practices. His artistry extends beyond throat singing to include mastery of the tsuur, an ancient end-blown flute, through which he evokes the sounds and spirit of Mongolia’s natural landscapes.
