“EthnoMechanica” is an international world music festival in St.Petersburg, Russia. The festival is a project of Sergey Kuryokhin Foundation and takes place in Sergey Kuryokhin modern art center. “EthnoMechanica” happened first time in 2008 and immediately became a significant event in Saint-Petersburg’s cultural life.
Carrying on the SKIF festival traditions, “EthnoMechanica” introduces to Russian audience diversity of world music, welcoming experiment and synthesis. The festival keeps on extending its national and musical geography. “Ethnomechanica” perfectly combines Altai throat singing kai and Sami throat singing yoik, Klezmer and hip-hop, Balkan beat and baile-funk, Ukrainian folk and African rhythms, digital cumbia and Uzbek pop, turbo-folk and dancehall, Bollywood hits and Tadzhik folk.
The festival promotes culture of different nations, tolerance, respect and mutual understanding through music.

This year we are honoured to have on ou stage the legend of afro-beat music, legendary Nigerian musician Tony Allen. It will be his first visit to St.Petersburg. He will perform his program “Black Series”.
