Drop Trio's music careens between styles; with feet suarely in the New Orleans Funk & Acid Jazz camps, and nods to such diverse influencs as progressive rock, classical composition and electronica. Their sound appeals simultaneously both to the jazz sophisticate and the jam band devotee. In only it's first year, Drop Trio has garnered three nominations in the 2003 Houston Press Music Awards ( Best Jazz, Best Guitar, and Best Keyboards ), and released their first full lenghth CD - The Big Dipper.
