APFUS, VOL. 2 - Julián Muro feat. Dave Douglas
Produced by Dave Douglas in NYC
Argentine singer, guitarist, and poet Julián Muro is presenting his upcoming album, APFUS VOL. 2 (due 2027). While the first volume explored the rigor of chamber strings, this one explores the rich dynamic playing of jazz. Following the international critical acclaim of its predecessor—including an excellent review in Songlines' 2026 special WOMEX issue—this second volume was again co-produced by New York jazz legend Dave Douglas, a guest trumpet player throughout. The project expands the intersection of South American folklore, contemporary song, and modern jazz.
"Julián is a great singer and songwriter working to advance the musical lineage of his homeland. His music uses song form, harmony, melody, and perhaps most importantly, rhythm, in the way that jazz uses it — to advance a story and to speak from the heart through music. Julián's music is an extraordinary blend of style and idea, and it was a great pleasure to work with him on this production."
