Music Centre Slovakia (MCS) is a centre of documentation, promotion of Slovak culture with nationwide activities. It develops the database system consisting of information on Slovak composers as well as other music personalities of all music genres, musicologists and all important music information, organizes international festival of contemporary music Melos-Ethos, Central European Music Festival in Zilina, concerts of Slovak and foreign artists at home and abroad, musicological events. To its activities belongs producing of CD-s and publishing of sheet music, music books and the only music magazine in Slovakia Hudobný zivot (Musical Life). Participation in European projects strengthens the international co-operation of MCS. It annually takes part in the music fair MIDEM and is a member of The International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC), The International Association of Music Libraries (IAML), European Conference of Promoters of New Music (ECPNM).
