Pablo Ziegler was co-founder of Piazzolla's nuevo tango, when he was the pianist in the famous quintet. Later he teamed up succesfully with guitarist Quique Sinesi and they won a Latin Grammy for best tango album with Bajo Cero.
Buenos Aires Dark is the latest album on the new label Saphrane. Together with bandoneon player Walter Castro they were recorded live in the Bimhuis in Amsterdam. The album has 8 origenal songs and one Piazzolla composition. The over all impression is a unique blend between (traditional) tango and jazz. A great performance!
