Musica Corriente

Musica Corriente is a record label founded in Medellin, Colombia in 2013 among musicians and groups with related causes, through a joint effort to facilitate the process of recording, distribuition, and interpretation of independent music in our city and country. I our denomintation, Corriente is substantive, identity, is a torrent of voices prone to lost causes. So far, we have produced 20 albums and we have 12 groups in our catalog. The label has a cultural center in Medellin called La Pascasia, with a venue for concerts, an art gallery and a bookstore. At Pascasia we recognize that the work of artists transfers to our consciousness a critical attitude towards reality. When painters, writers and musicians share their personal vision of the world we inhabit, they reveal to the audience problems and solutions that were previously unnoticed. Such work plays an indispensable role in the ecology of our society and we warn that the economic fragility of artistic projects reduces their action. For this reason, we focus our efforts towards the creation of a platform that ensures that these artistic expressions can lead to the development of cultural events.
