The new show by the singer and composer Paula Oliveira is based on her new album "Flores de Saramago" (“Saramago's Flowers”), with music composed by her for the Portuguese, Iberian and universal writer José Saramago's poems.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Nobel Prize for Literature by José Saramago, the first to be attributed to a Portuguese-speaking writer, Paula Oliveira presents a concert that transports to the musical universe, through compositions of her own, "Os Poemas Possíveis” (“The Possible Poems"), a book by the Portuguese author. The musical aesthetics of the repertoire comes from the continuation of her journey linked to jazz and Portuguese music and is presented by her and four great musicians of the portuguese jazz scene.
Before "Flores de Saramago", whose edition is scheduled for this year, Paula Oliveira released the albums "Paula Oliveira - featuring Cliff Korman, David Fink e Paulo Braga" (1998), "Quase Então" (duo with pianist João Paulo Esteves da Silva, 2003), "Lisboa que Adormece" (duo with bassist Bernardo Moreira, 2005), "Fado Roubado" (2007), "Raça" , signed by Paula Oliveira and LisBones, and "“Just in Time” (2014) with António José Veloso (piano), Bernardo Moreira (double bass) and Manuel Jorge Veloso (drums).
