I play traditional Irish music on the concertina, an instrument rarely found outside Ireland.
I have a couple of projects:

1. The Jason O'Rourke Trio: an instrumental traditional Irish music outfit. The music is lively and energetic with the occasional slower piece. Recent concert highlights include Festival Internacional da Sanfona, Juazeiro, Brazil, Irlanda in Festa, Italy, Festival Internacional Boreal, Tenerife. The new album, The Northern Concertina, which was funded by an Arts Council Northern Ireland ACES award, is the seventh of my career.

"Jason O’Rourke’s music has matured down the years into a fully cohesive and finely-tuned style; each note executed with pin- pricked precision. He stands on his own merits among concertina players in Ireland and elsewhere, and his music finds full maturity on this outstanding set."

John O'Regan in 'The Living Tradition.'

2. Madagán: A traditional Irish band featuring songs in Irish Gaelic with sumptuous harmonies, and a mixture of traditional tunes and new compositions that reflect the vibrant music scene in Belfast. In January 2019 we went to Goa, India, for a collaborative project with a local singer. The results of this were premiered at Sur Jahan festival in February 2019, and the album 'Madagoan', is due for release in October 2019.
