Cuban singer and composer, Eme Alfonso, graduated in Piano and Choral Conducting at the National Arts School of Cuba. She recorded for the first time in an album when she was 7, together with Silvio Rodriguez.

She started her professional career when she was 14, with the Afro-Cuban rock band Sintesis, from which she has been singer and composer, and with which she was nominated for Latin Grammy 2002. With Sintesis she travelled America and Europe for 10 years, performing at international festivals such as Rock in Rio in Brazil, Jazz a Vienne in Austria and Nice Jazz Festival in France.

Eme started her solo career in 2006 and collaborated with renown artists such as Fito Paez, Chucho Valdes, Omara Portuondo and Florence K. She sang for one million people at Juanes &769; Peace Concert in Havana, 2009.

When she was 23, her solo debut "Senales" ("Signs") won the Cubadisco award for best Cuban fusion album.

Her second album "Eme", was awarded for Cubadisco best Pop-Fusion album 2013.

"Buscando inspiracion" was awarded for Lucas best Cuban music video of the year.

In her new album, Eme shows an innovative genre by mixing the Cuban and Latin music with Soul and Jazz. The artist recreates in "Eme" the Golden Age of Cuban music from the 50 &769;s. According to NPR, "the album's compositions hinge on [Eme] Alfonso's warm and moving vocals".
