Gilad Ronen

Performing artist Gilad Ronen, a master of the saxophone, flute and other woodwind instruments. Composer, arranger and producer was born in 1979 in the city of Tel Aviv, Israel.
He has studied music at the most pristine institutions and holds a Bachelor's Degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston. A Master's degree from the University of Southern California and won the famous Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz competition.
While residing in Los Angeles and completing both, his masters from the USC and his diploma from the institute, Gilad has had the fortune to perform and record for many major artists such as Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, Brian Blade, Dave Holland, Mary Mary gospel band and some major films as well such as "Duplex" and "Raise Your Voice".
After attaining his masters Gilad moved to New York where he joined forces with "The Brand New Heavies", on the following years Gilad has traveled extensively all over the world touring and performing prestigious venues with the band. He has performed in many major jazz festivals such as: Tokyo Jazz Festival, JVC Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival and TV talk shows such as Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel.
In 2009 Gilad broke his engagement with "The Brand New Heavies" and started working on his solo project.
"Fractions of Light" his debut album was released in 2011.
Today Gilad is a faculty at the New School (NYC) program in Tel Aviv and recording and producing many new acts local and international as well.

"Unspoken" Jazz sextet with mediterranean influences
Quartet with female singer Jesse Palter
"Elegy" A duet with a pianist
