The group Port-Bo was born in 1966 in Calella de Palafrugell (Girona) when it was presented a book called "Calella de Palafrugell y les Habaneres". The initial trio, formed by Josep Xicoira, Carles Mir and Ernest Morató, accompanied by the Master Frederic Sirés, author of "La gavina" at the piano. The group, together with other lovers of the Havaneres*, set up the classical "Cantades d'Havaneres de Calella de Palafrugell" (Havaneres Festival). They have participated during all the years.

Being their main territory Catalunya, they have also sung in Bilbao, Mondragón, Madrid, Valladolid, Mallorca, Formentera, Perpinyà, Cotlliure, Luxemburg, Holand, Germany and Cuba. Nowadays, the group is formed by Francesc Ramon "Xiqui", tenor; Irineo Ferrer "Mineu", baritone and Carles Casanova, bass.

PORT-BO has a repertory with multitude of havaneres, both in Catalan and Spanish, Sailor Catalan Waltz's, Sardanes and Boleros. During all their career they have recorded more than 10 records (seven of them with PICAP) In 1995, the CD "Arrel de tres" arrived at the 8th place on the Catalan Records Chart, being the unique time that an Havaneres record have reached this position.
